Pamela is a parenting expert, certified Hand in Hand Parenting Instructor and parent coach who deeply values compassion, connection and respectful parenting.
Pamela holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and Health Promotion and has volunteered and worked in the community & voluntary sector for over ten years. She brings her big-picture systems thinking and social justice values into her speaking.
Pamela is not afraid to challenge the mainstream parenting paradigm in favour of an evidence-based approach to the neuroscience of connection, childhood trauma and brain development. Pamela’s approach is trauma informed and centred around compassion for the parents she works with.
As well as her parenting work, Pamela continues to volunteer within her local community, believing strongly in the power of community and grassroots social support for families.
Pamela can speak about a range of topics from resilience and understanding children’s emotions to specific parenting issues such as separation anxiety, aggression and picky eating. She frequently offers talks and webinars in-person in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where she is based, and online to the wider worldwide parenting community.
When Pamela isn’t working with parents, you will probably find her at home building forts or rough-and-tumbling with her two children.
